It’s not every day that I get to spend several hours with my clients. My family and portrait sessions usually last about 45 minutes to an hour. But a few times a year, I get the opportunity to do an extended lifestyle session with a family, and they are such a treat. While family sessions are full of relatively quick energy and excitement, lifestyle sessions allow for more time to do multiple activities, and allow me to capture families in a totally candid way, usually documenting something fun or a peek into their vacation or time at home. A few weeks ago I had a two and half hour session with the “I” Family – Betsy, Judah, Anders, Graham, and Eve. This family has been traveling to Ogunquit for several years now, and wanted to capture the essence of some of their favorite activities in their favorite place. We started our time together with lobster rolls on Ogunquit Beach, followed by lots of play and splashing in the water. We then headed to Perkins Cove for ice cream and time on the docks, and then finished our time on a private cove as the sun made its final descent. What you (hopefully) can’t tell from the photos is that it was about a bazillion degrees on this day, and I’m so grateful that this family still went for it and embraced the beauty of vacation in Maine – hot sun and all. Here are my favorites of this super-sweet family on our fun evening together.
