Fall Beach Mini Sessions! {Higgins Beach} | Scarborough Maine Family Photographer

It’s fall mini session season!! I kicked off my two sets of fall minis earlier this month on the shores of Higgins Beach in Scarborough. I have to give all four of my families from this year’s beach minis (and woods minis too – that story coming later!) an extra high five thank you for being extra awesome. As our weekend approached for these sessions the weather was looking pretty terrible and I was sure we’d have to use our rain date. On Sunday morning, the day of the sessions, I woke up to a much improved forecast and was so excited to have the sessions on time. About two hours prior to the first session, I thought it would be a good idea to check out the Higgins webcam and almost started to cry as I saw a tide that was where it should have been an hour and a half BEFORE high tide rather than and hour and a half AFTER low tide. I knew I could get my first session in, but the other two would be soaking wet – no fun for a not-so-summery October day. So I scrambled and called all my families to reschedule for the next day. They were all so understanding and kind and just wonderful about the last minute change. I learned to pay attention to high surf warnings and also was reminded what a wonderful client base I have.

So the next day we headed to Higgins where we were greeted with a lower tide, bright skies, and lots of laughter and beach fun (even some toes in, too!!). I am so excited to share favorites from three of my four session (a reminder that I always respect your privacy requests if you don’t want your photos online!), and again a huge thank you to all four families for being so flexible, so kind, and so so fun for this year’s fall beach minis!
