I took a little blogging and social media hiatus last week to get caught up (so many sessions! So few editing hours!), and I can think of no better way to come back online this week than with the F and G Families. For six years now I have had the pleasure of photographing these two families together as they travel to Maine for their annual summer getaway from their homes in Virginia and North Carolina. I’ve always appreciated how easy and how fun it is to spend time with these guys and at this point, our two hour lifestyle and portrait sessions feel like hanging out and taking photos of friends. All four kiddos are so comfortable with the camera and our routine of exploring fun areas wherever we are while taking family and group photos in between, and I’m always sad to leave them all at the end of our time together. This year was our fourth session on Peaks Island and we explored areas that were new to me in the woods of the island, before heading to a sandy beach on the north side, and finally doing a little splashing at the very end before I took the ferry back to Portland. It was a hazy night, but a gorgeous one on the island, and another one for the books with these really special families. I love capturing their Maine adventures and am so grateful for year six with this crew.
