Seven years ago, I first met Alisa, Dick, and James in Boothbay, and as we rode in their canoe to an island off the coast, I quickly learned that photo sessions with this crew were going to be an adventure. Each summer since then they have brought me somewhere new and different, and this year I was super excited when Alisa informed me they had chosen Pemaquid for their session. I had only been to Pemaquid once before, and was excited to return and do a family session there. I will be honest and share that I was not totally prepared for how bright this spot is, and so we had to get a little creative and be a little patient as we waited out the setting sun, but the benefit to building relationships is trust – and I am so grateful that these guys trusted me when I said we needed to hang out for a bit and get a little creative with the locations around the property. The wait times and exploration were well worth it, as we were treated to the most fabulous sunset at the very end of our time. I love photographing this family – I love how close they are, how much James loves to learn while playing, and what a great team Alisa and Dick are together. They have a big awesome year ahead of them in 2026, and I am excited to share my favorites from this year’s adventure before the next one.
