The L Family {Drakes Island Beach} | Wells Maine Family Photographer

It’s been a few years since I last photographed at Drakes Island Beach in Wells, and it’s also been a few years since I saw the L Family – Jackie, Kevin, Thomas, Matthew, and Benjamin. I knew I’d be a little shocked by how much the boys had grown in three years, but I just about fell over when I saw them – especially Thomas who has grown a good two feet and is headed into high school this fall. My sessions with these guys are always full of SO MUCH ENERGY, and that is the one thing that has not changed since I last photographed them in 2022 – and it is also my most favorite thing about them! There is nothing better than kids who feel like they can just be themselves around me and in front of the camera, and goofy energy is so much fun to photograph! We had an absolutely stunning evening on Drakes, with puffy clouds, a quick rainbow!, amazing light, and waters that were teal and smooth as we wrapped up our session on top of the jetty. The boys were as silly as ever, and Jackie and Kevin did not hesitate to play along, and enjoy the magic of time with their kids in their happy place. It is so hard to pick favorite photos from this session, and I am so glad I got to see these five again here in Maine this summer.
