I have lots of favorite things about my job, but high on my list are the people I meet. This career has introduced me literally to people from all over the world. Some come and go, and come back each year and/or check in throughout the year. When I first met Rachel and her family a few years ago, I was hopeful I’d see them again, but what I didn’t know at the time is that Rachel herself is a talented photographer, and over the past few years I have not only had the chance to photograph her family a few times, I’ve also had the honor of mentoring her a bit as well, (and am still trying to convince her to pick this up professionally, because the girl has got an eye!). This year though, our time together was less about photography, and all about family, including her husband Matt, daughters Anna and Lydia, and brand new 3-month old daughter Eliza. What I’ve always felt while working with this family, and felt even more this year, is the presence of SO much love for each other. This family is close-knit, kind, helpful, silly, and sweet – literally everything you want to capture in a family, and from the outside looking in, it seems that having a new little one, and lots of time home together has brought them even closer. This year, we headed to Savage Preserve in South Berwick – a new spot for me, but a favorite walking place for this crew. We explored the paths, and I had so much fun capturing these guys doting on Eliza and loving being together. Here are my many favorites from our gorgeous evening together.
