The C Family {Higgins Beach} | Scarborough Maine Family Photographer

I love love love having good friends in front of my cameras, and a few weeks ago I got to spend an evening with Ashley, Nik, and Ryan at Higgins Beach. Ashley and I met over a decade ago, on an online board for new moms. At the time, they were living in North Carolina. When they learned that they would be coming to Maine for Nik’s residency, Ashley and I made a point to get together in real life and an instant friendship was born. Our kids are just a week apart in age, and as toddlers, we had so much fun adventuring with them and taking several trips on the Polar Express in Portland. As life gets busier for both of our families, we don’t get to see each other as much as we’d like, but our teenagers are still pretty good at being awkward together, and Ashley and I never skip a beat. It’s crazy to me that our kids are headed to high school next year, and I was so happy that Ashley reached out for a session, our last one being in 2020. Ryan has grown up so much even since I saw him a few months ago around Christmas. He is thoughtful and serious, but still not totally afraid to let some giggles out when his parents are being silly. What I have always loved about this family is how much they appreciate and support each other for who they are at whatever moment in time, and I think that makes them one heck of an awesome and close-knit family.
