Six years ago, I met Rebecca, Mac and Alex, and every year since I’ve had the pleasure of seeing these three for our annual photo session. This year Rebecca wanted to start with photos at home, and then head to Littlejohn Island here in town, a favorite spot of the boys to go swimming and dock jumping in the summer. While I had driven past this spot on Littlejohn a few times over the years, I had never photographed there and was both excited and nervous, knowing how challenging the light can be along the coast here in Yarmouth. All my worries disappeared upon arrival though, as I realized that not only was the light absolute magic, but there was also magic in seeing two teenage boys, who don’t always love photo day, get a bit of a twinkle in their eye in their happy place. The highlight of the evening was our final frames, when Mac climbed to the very top (the VERY TOP) of the dock and did a magical flip into the ocean below. You’re definitely going to want to scroll all the way to the end of this one. ✨ This was one for the books, and I’m always grateful for another year with these three in front of my cameras.
